6 session class
Thursdays 1-5pm
November 5 - December 17 (no class November 26)
4 spots left!
If you want a gorgeous statement piece for your dresser or nightstand, come learn how to create a beautiful stained-glass jewelry box. In this class, you will learn the traditional Tiffany method which entails cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering stained-glass. You will also learn how to frame the top piece of your jewelry box using zinc or copper came and solder on a hinge and chain. Depending on your pace and design, you may also learn how to apply patina, a stained-glass overlay piece(s), and wire accents. Please come to the first class with a clear design idea or two and limit your top design to no more than 15 pieces of glass - as you will need to prep 5 more pieces of glass for the sides and bottom. Approximate finished dimensions 5×7” and you also take home an (optional) insert for your jewelry box which will hold 15 pairs of earrings, rings etc. If you need any guidance or feedback on a design consideration - please email Karen prior to the class: olivetealarts@gmail.com.
This is a more intermediate/advanced level class and would be suitable for students who have taken a prior stained-glass class(es) with Oliveteal Arts.
All stained-glass, materials and use of tools and safety equipment included in the price. Please wear closed toe shoes.
artwork photo is for illustration purposes only, students will be able to create their own design
