In 2023, Karen served as Co-Chair, Portsmouth Cultural Plan Subcommittee. As of 2026, she is currently serving her second term on the Portsmouth Arts and Cultural Commission https://www.portsmouthnh.gov/city/arts-cultural-commission

In May, 2025, Oliveteal Arts joined the New England Mosaic Society: https://www.newenglandmosaicsociety.com
