Come join the fun and make a small stained-glass window panel using your favorite postcard or photo as inspiration - also makes a wonderful gift!
Have you ever had a moment while traveling where a scene took your breath away? and you wanted to capture that moment FOREVER???? Well, how about taking that pic or postcard and transforming it into a small stained-glass window panel?
During this 5-session class you will learn the traditional Tiffany stained-glass method which entails cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering stained-glass. You will also learn how to make a hand-crafted zinc frame for your small window panel - approximate dimensions 5”x8” and leave with a special wooden easel to display your treasured masterpiece. This will look stunning on a windowsill. We will spend time during the first class creating your stained-glass pattern from your picture or postcard. Use my example as a guide and choose a picture or postcard with relatively simple details/lines. Please e-mail your picture or postcard to Karen prior to the first class so she can review. Can’t decide? Send a few to: olivetealarts@gmail.com. Your design/pattern should not exceed more than 10 pieces of glass.
In the example, Karen created a small stained-glass window panel using a photo from Fiordland National Park in New Zealand.
All stained-glass, materials and use of tools and safety equipment included in the price. Please wear closed-toed shoes during class.
artwork photo is for illustration purposes only, students will be able to create their own design
